Governmental Portal becomes the winner of the World Summit Award the world`s best e-contents - 7/20/2005 -

The Ukrainian
stage of the Worldwide Contest for selecting and promoting world best e-content
projects “World Summit Award the world`s best e-contents – 2005” was finished on July 19 in Kyiv. The winner in the “e-Governing”
nomination became the Governmental Portal http://www.kmu.gov.ua/control/en
that was developed and supported by the Volia Software Company – one of
the leaders of Ukrainian IT-market (Volia Software was referred on the contest by
their Ukrainian brand name Softline). Many of
the company systems and products are unique both technologically and in the view
of implementation scale. Technologies applied for maintaining and development
of the Governmental Portal have no equivalents in Ukraine; they are certified by the
Department of Special Telecommunication Systems and Data Guarding of the
Security Service of Ukraine. The company priority activity is not only software
production but also granting full range of services on developing process
management systems.
Winners of the World Summit Award were chosen in 8 nominations - e-Education, e-Governing, e-Commerce, e-Attraction, e-Culture, e-Medical Services, e-Entertainment, e-Science. Evaluation criteria were quality annd accessibility of content,strategic value of the product for progress of informational community and product creation date (years of 2004-2005).
The World Summit
Award was supported on behalf of Ukrainian part by the “Informational Community
of Ukraine” Fund and Internet-Association of Ukraine. The contest is passing
under patronage of eight world presidents within the bounds of UN World Summit
on matters of Informational Community. This year, representatives of 168
countries took part in the contest. The
Special Expert Council defined the best 8 projects among almost the hundred of
applications from Ukrainian Internet-resource developers from the 9th till 15th of July. We are pleased
to note that the Governmental Portal http://www.kmu.gov.ua/control/en
entered the “golden eight” and became the winner in the “e-Governing”
nomination.
The Governmental Portal being the awardee in the
WSA Ukrainian stage is only the starting point of promising way of Ukrainian
IT-specialists’ recognition in the field of e-Governing. On August 1, there
will be the meeting of the Grand Jury in Saltsburg (Austria) that will define 40
