Volia Software (also known by their Ukrainian brand name Softline) the developer of modern IT management systems, was founded in 1995 by the team of Ukrainian National Technical University’s graduates. Today, the company is successful competitor of world leading software developers; operating in Ukraine, USA and Europe, and employing about 400 specialists it takes part and wins international contests and tenders on a par with best international companies and IT-corporations.

How it all started? At the end of November 1995, the team of bold and ambitious graduates of Ukrainian National Technical University (Kyiv Polytechnic Institute) made up their minds to try themselves in novel activity for the time being – design of business processes-oriented corporative information systems. It was 1996 when they won the first tender procedure; the Forward system designed for Ukrainian Agricultural Stock successfully works till now.

First revenues were almost fully invested into development; experienced and famous specialists were invited, talented youth was engaged. Significant part of assets was spent on development pf proprietary software tools – so, in 1997 universal Megapolis™ toolkit appeared. Once for internal use, this product evolved into CIS-largest Open Source technology by means of constant updating and perfection.

While developing, the company started participating and winning domestic and international biddings for design and deployment of information systems. In 2002, Volia Software won the tender as a general contractor for implementing the “e-Government of Ukraine” project. The basement for building e-Ukraine became the United Portal of Executive Bodies designed by us -http://www.kmu.gov.ua/control/en.

The company which once consisted of 7 people, by 2005 turned into an enterprise with international team of about 400 employees, over 250 of them being highly qualified software developers. Volia Software employees possess 29 copyrights for design of large software complexes. Volia software’s Quality Management System is certified for meeting requirements of CMM level 3 international quality standard and ISO 9001:2000. Further development of the company’s QA system is planned in correspondence with CMMI requirements and assessment for meeting the CMMI level 4 standards is planned for autumn of 2006.

In 2004 Volia Software’s child company, Softline Business Intelligence, was founded, that specializes in the Business Intelligence field basing on Enterprise Data Warehouses. A year later in 2005 Volia Software establishes another child company Softline Business Practice. Its main activity is related to ERP systems promotion, implementation and maintenance.
